We've made a little prototype just to test and discover what kind of interactions students may want to make during a class! We can't wait to show you the device we end up creating.
We want you to have our prototype open during a class. As you go through the class, you'll be able to use our prototype when you feel it's appropriate. I will ask you questions, feel free to answer them at any point throughout the class. In fact, it's better if you take breaks between questions.
How do you feel today?
Woke up tired. Not really ready for class.
Do you enjoy this class?
Not particularly. It's been worse ever since it went online. I more just listen to make sure there aren't any changes to assignments or stuff that might be due.
Why?
I guess mainly because its a one-way kind of class. Like the teacher is the one doing all of the explaining, so it's more like a lecture. Not their fault though. Just the way it is I guess.
Does this class engage you? How do you usually stay engaged with this class?
It's rarely engaging. I stop caring pretty soon into the class. There was one time it was engaging and we were doing a Kahoot, that was pretty much an outlier.
What was the introduction to class like. How did that feel?
I didn't speak. Teacher just asked how everyone was, someone replied but they always do. It's always the same people with most of my classes, I'm not sure if they're doing it to be noticed for participation marks or because they genuinely want to talk.
Did people seem to want to interact?
Not really. Most people there are like me, cameras and mics off. It means we can do literally anything else while the class drags on but we still get that participation mark.
